In academic writing, the term "running head" refers to the provision of a brief summary of the article on its front page. Running headers are useful for identifying specific pages while reading through large documents. It is usually placed at the top right corner of a page. The running head in APA format comprises a truncated version (no more than 50 characters) of the document's title in CAPITAL LETTERS, as well as the page number. A running head, also known as a page header, is a line at the top of each page of a text that provides crucial information to the reader.
